AAD Annual Exhibition 2026
In 1907, physician Duncan MacDougall attempted to prove it; he placed dying patients on a scale and recorded what was lost at the moment of death. The figure: 21 grams. Science has since dismissed the experiment, but the question it posed never quite left us: what is the measure of something we cannot see?
Some seek to answer through science; others, through creation. 21 grams is this not merely a number, but a testament of our enduring search for meaning.
At this threshold of graduation, we continue to pursue the unseen through our creative practice.
