“Waste not! Don’t be a Big Waster!”   ( 咪嘥嘢!咪做大嘥鬼!)

Mr KS Wong, an architect, has served as the Secretary for the Environment of the Hong Kong SAR Government for ten years. During his two terms of appointment in 2012-2022, KS not only led the environmental policies in Hong Kong, but also acted as the “architect” of various innovative environmental initiatives, including the creation of “Big Waster” (大嘥鬼) as the icon for Foodwise Hong Kong Campaign, and the branding of waste-to-energy / resources infrastructure and community recycling network, such as T·PARK, O·PARK, Y·PARK and GREEN@COMMUNITY (綠在區區). In the case of GREEN@COMMUNITY, “6” as a remarkably simple branding has been adopted and the architectural design of “Recycling Stores” (回收便利點) is clean and green.

The talk will be the first time for KS in collaboration with the representing “designers”, including Ms Karin Wong (creative consultant / film director, founder of Adbrownies Group) on “Big Waster”, Mr Hung Lam (creative director, co-founder of CoDesign Ltd) on “6” and Mr Alan Cheung (architect, managing director & co-founder of One Bite Design Studio Ltd) on “Recycling Stores”, to present the story of these exploration processes and projects over the last decade.
